How a TEAM entry (relay) works:

You may participate as a TEAM for the Sprint distances (minimum age for Sprint is 16yrs).

A team consists of 2 or 3 members. Each team member competes in one discipline i.e. 1st team member = Swim, 2nd team member = Cycle, 3rd team member = Run. The Team event works like a relay. The team gets given a timing chip which will act like a batten and will get passed onto each team member in the transition area. Along with the timing chip, the Team also get 2 x race numbers which are worn by the cyclist and by the runner. The swimmer will get an official swim cap.

RACE BRIEFING 6:50am for all competitors (Compulsory)
WET SUITS A decision on wetsuits will be taken an hour before the start of the Sprint.
Wetsuits for the event would be advisable as water temperatures usually cooler at this time of year.
TRI BARS Are allowed for both events
DRAFTING NO Drafting will be allowed in the Sprint event. Strict rules apply.
TIMING

Timing Chips will be given out at registration.
These chips are the athletes responsibility and will need to be returned on the finish line.

Athletes will be charged R150.00 for a non returned timing chip.

SWIM CAPS Competitors will be given OFFICIAL RACE Yellow swimming caps at registration
TRANSITON AREA

The Transition Area will open at 5:30am by the TSA Officials. Your bike, helmet and swim cap will be checked when you enter the transition area. You will not be allowed to exit the transition Area with your bike until after the last competitor has finished your bike leg. The Transition Area will close and everyone must exit at 6:40am for race briefing

Outside Assistance: No athlete will be allowed any "Special Needs" assistance by the EO or the Officials during the Sprint or Ultra race.
