Conservation Fees | All spectators will need to pay R50.00 Conservation Fee to enter Cradle Moon Lakeside Game Lodge. This conservation fee is payable by all visitors. Athletes will receive wristbands at registration which will allow them access to the venue. Spectators bands can be purchased at registration for race day or will need to be purchased on race day at the gate. | ||

How a TEAM entry (relay) works: |
You may participate as a TEAM for the Sprint distances (minimum age for Sprint is 16yrs). You may enter as a Corporate, School or Family TEAM A team consists of 2 or 3 members. Each team member competes in one discipline i.e. 1st team member = Swim, 2nd team member = Cycle, 3rd team member = Run. The Team event works like a relay. The team gets given a timing chip which will act like a batten and will get passed onto each team member in the transition area. Along with the timing chip, the Team also get 2 x race numbers which are worn by the cyclist and by the runner. The swimmer will get an official swim cap. |

RACE BRIEFING | 8am for all competitors at your swim start | ||
WET SUITS | A decision on wetsuits will be taken at 6am on race day, as per TSA rule | ||
TRI BARS | Are allowed for both events | ||
DRAFTING | NO Drafting will be allowed in the Sprint event.Strict rules apply. | ||
TIMING | Timing Chips will be provided in race packs at registration. Timing Chips have to be returned at the finish. All unreturned chips will be liable to pay R200.00 | ||
Race numbers MUST be worn and will be given to athletes at Registration. | |||
SWIM CAPS | Competitors will be given OFFICIAL RACE Yellow swimming caps at registration. | ||
SWIM | Competitors will swim 1 Lap of 600m | ||
TRANSITON AREA | The Transition Area will open at 5:15am by the TSA Officials. Your bike, helmet and swim cap will be checked when you enter the transition area. You will not be allowed to exit the Transition Area with your bike until after the last competitor has finished you bike leg. The Transition Area will close and everyone must exit at 6:50am for race briefing | ||
KIT BAGS & EQUIPMENT | Competitors will be allowed to leave their kit bags next to their bikes neatly inside the transition area. | ||
The Officials and Organisers will in no way be responsible for lost or stolen items. | |||
WHAT TO PACK | What to pack for your Triathlon view here | ||
Outside Assistance: | No athlete will be allowed any “Special Needs” assistance by the EO or the Officials during the Sprint or Ultra race. | ||
CARS & SUPPORTERS | NO support or spectator cars will be allowed on the Road due to the Athletes safety. | ||
Anyone found driving on the route will result in their athlete being disqualified. | |||

BIKE LAPS | The Sprint competitors will cycle 1 x lap out and back (10km out and 10km back) The cycle route is out of the Cradle Moon venue and left onto the M5 / Beyers Naude Drive. At the first big traffic circle the competitors turn left onto the R540 for 3.7km until the entrance to “The Cradle” Here there will be a Bike water table and a turn point. The Sprint competitors turn around and head back to the big traffic circle, then right back along Beyers Naude Drive until Cradle Moon. They then turn right back into Cradle Moon resort and back to the Transition area. | ||
RUN LAPS | The Sprint race run route is all inside the Cradle Moon resort and the 5km run route is all on open, clear dirt roads. There will be two water tables on the 5km route which loops out into the bush and back to the finish area. | ||
WATER TABLE | There will be 2 Water tables on the 5km Run route | ||
NUTRITION AT RUN WATER TABLES: | Water Sachets, 32Gi Endure, 32Gi Gels & 32Gi Bars, Coke and Bananas will be available at Run Water tables. If the weather is very hot, Sponges will be available at all run water tables. | ||
*Rubbish must be thrown away within 50m after each water table. | |||
If caught throwing away after this, your will be disqualified. | |||
TSA DAY LICENCE | If you don’t have your TSA Licence with you on the day, it is compulsory to pay for a day Licence | ||

DRUG FREE SPORT | Athlete Medication | ||
Athletes must apply for Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE) if they are using a prohibited substance for legitimate, medically justified reasons to avoid any embarrassment for the athlete or TSA. Any athlete with a documented, legitimate medical condition may apply for TUE. Drug Free Sport will be conducting tests on a regular basis at TSA events. MINIMUM AGE | The min age group for all Tri Sprint events has changed to 16 and not 15yrs old. | ||
STRICT REFUNDS & TRANSFER POLICY |
No Race refunds are done for any event. Athletes can transfer their pre-entry to another athlete due to a medical condition only. This will be at no extra cost. Written permission as well as a signed doctors note is required. Athlete Transfers need to be done and completed 72hrs prior to pre-entries closing.
