|DISTANCES||ULTRA 1.9km Swim / 90Km Cycle / 21km Run|
|How a TEAM entry (relay) works:||
You may participate as a TEAM for the Ultra distances (minimum age for Ultra is 18yrs).
You may enter as a Corporate, School or Family TEAM
A team consists of 2 or 3 members. Each team member competes in one discipline i.e. 1st team member = Swim, 2nd team member = Cycle, 3rd team member = Run. The Team event works like a relay. The team gets given a timing chip which will act like a batten and will get passed onto each team member in the transition area. Along with the timing chip, the Team also get 2 x race numbers which are worn by the cyclist and by the runner. The swimmer will get an official swim cap.
|RACE BRIEFING||6:40am for all competitors (Compulsory)|
|WET SUITS||A decision on wetsuits will be taken at 6am on race day, as per TSA rule|
|TRI BARS||Are allowed for both events|
Mountain Bikes and TT bikes are allowed.

|DRAFTING||NO Drafting will be allowed in the Ultra event.Strict rules apply.|
|TIMING||Timing Chips will be provided at Registration|
|Race numbers MUST be worn during the Bike & Run and will be given to athletes at Registration.|
|CUT-OFF TIMES||NEW ULTRA RACE Cut Off Time: 8hrs 5min (6:50am – 3:30pm)|
|Swim: 1hr05min (7:55am)|
|Cycle: 4hrs (12:00pm)|
|Run: 3hrs (3:30pm)|
|Ultra Teams will get 8hrs time limit (3:30pm)|
|Athletes must take note, that prize giving will commence at 3pm and competitors still out on the course will be allowed to finish and receive a medal up until 3:30pm.|
|SWIM CAPS||Competitors will be given OFFICIAL RACE Yellow swimming caps at registration.|
|SWIM LAPS||The ULTRA Race competitors will swim 2 x Laps of 950m in an anti-clockwise direction in the Cradle Moon Dam.|
|TRANSITON AREA||The Transition Area will open at 5:15am by the TSA Officials. Your bike, helmet and swim cap will be checked when you enter the transition area. You will not be allowed to exit the Transition Area with your bike until after the last competitor has finished you bike leg. The Transition Area will close and everyone must exit at 6:50am for race briefing|
|KIT BAGS & EQUIPMENT||Competitors must remove all kit bags from the Transition area by 6:50am.|
|There will be a kit bag TENT provided at your own risk.|
|The Officials and Organisers will in no way be responsible for lost or stolen items.|
|WHAT TO PACK||What to pack for your Triathlon view here|
|Outside Assistance:||No athlete will be allowed any “Special Needs” assistance by the EO or the Officials during the Sprint or Ultra race.|
|CARS & SUPPORTERS||NO support or spectator cars will be allowed on the Road due to the Athletes safety.|
|Anyone found driving on the route will result in their athlete being disqualified.|

|BIKE LAPS||The ULTRA Race competitors will cycle 2 x laps out and back. The cycle route is out of Cradle Moon and left onto the M5 / Beyers Naude Drive. Then at the first big traffic circle, left onto the R540. The competitors will cycle along the R540, past the Lion Park and Rhino and Lion reserve. The competitors then turn right onto the R563 towards the Sterkfontein Caves. The ULTRA competitors will turn around at the entrance to the Makiti Venue. Here there will be a water table and turn point. The Ultra competitors then head back to the Big traffic circle just past the sprint turn point. Here they turn around and head back out for their second bike lap. Only once they have done two laps from the big traffic Circle to Makiti, do they then turn right at the traffic Circle and back along Beyers Naude Drive until Cradle Moon. They then turn right back into Cradle Moon resort and back to the Transition area.|
|RUN LAPS||The ULTRA race run route is an out and back lap (10.5km out and 10.5km pack) The Competitors will start with 5km of open clear good dirt road, using the back entrance to the Cradle Moon resort. The Ultra competitors will make their way onto the Tar R374 / Satellite Road, just below Satellite hill. The runners will turn right and run on the right-hand side of the road all the way to the Nedbank Conference venue. Here they will turn at the water table and head back along the same route, back to the Finish next to the transition area. There will be 8 water tables on the 21km route.|
|WATER TABLE||There will be 8 Water tables on the 21km Run route. It will be a 10.5km out and 10.5km back route.|
|NUTRITION AT RUN WATER TABLES:||Water Sachets, 32Gi Endure, 32Gi Gels & 32Gi Bars, Coke and Bananas will be available at Run Water tables. If the weather is very hot, Sponges will be available at all run water tables.|
|*Rubbish must be thrown away within 50m after each water table.|
|If caught throwing away after this, your will be disqualified.|
|BIKE WATER TABLES||There will be 2 Bike Water tables on the 2 x 45km Lap bike route.|
|32GI & Water Race Bottles will be provided|
|*Rubbish must be thrown away within 100m after each water table. If caught throwing away after this, your will be disqualified.|
|TSA DAY LICENCE||If you don’t have your TSA Licence with you on the day, it is compulsory to pay for a day Licence|
|Ultra = R120.00|
|DRUG FREE SPORT||Athlete Medication|
|Athletes must apply for Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE) if they are using a prohibited substance for legitimate, medically justified reasons to avoid any embarrassment for the athlete or TSA. Any athlete with a documented, legitimate medical condition may apply for TUE. Drug Free Sport will be conducting tests on a regular basis at TSA events. |STRICT REFUNDS & TRANSFER POLICY||
No Race refunds are done for any event. Athletes can transfer their pre-entry to another athlete due to a medical condition only. This will be at no extra cost. Written permission as well as a signed doctors note is required. Athlete Transfers need to be done and completed 72hrs prior to pre-entries closing. |FINAL INSTRUCTION||Final instructions will be emailed out the week of the event.|
